Easton
Easton, CT, is a rural suburb of New York City in Southeastern Fairfield County that provides its nearly 7,600 residents with the quintessential country feel. Easton is considered one of the best places to live in CT for those in search of a rural feel. Easton offers little to no commercial enterprises other than a couple of convenience stores. Most travel to neighboring towns, such as the town of Fairfield for shopping or an evening out with family or friends. For what it lacks in shops and restaurants, it makes up for with plenty of open space for cycling, cross-country skiing and hiking in the renowned Trout Brook Valley Reserve. Most residents who own their own homes are attracted to Easton for its quality of outdoor living, and its highly rated, small school system. For the daily commuters to New York City, most take the 80-90 minute Metro-North train from Fairfield to Grand Central Station.
